Team Reverb

We're a varied and eclectic bunch here at Reverb, with diverse backgrounds in both the music and environmental fields. In addition to 6 full time office staff, Reverb also employs contractors, tour staff, and interns throughout the year.

Lauren Sullivan
Director & Co-Founder

In the spring of 2004, Lauren, with the help of some friends, proceeded to chase the Barenaked Ladies’/Alanis Morissette “Au Naturale” tour back and forth across the country… and so Reverb’s days of green touring and education began. Today Lauren works on many of the organizational elements that keep Reverb chugging: financial oversight and development, governance and legal, with some biodiesel coordination thrown in.

Lauren earned a B.A. in Social Psychology and Spanish from Tufts University and an M.S. in Environmental Education from the Audubon Expedition Institute at Lesley University. Lauren has worked as a campaigner with the Rainforest Action Network in San Francisco, and in Brooklyn, NY with Partnerships for Parks helping communities to advocate for and reclaim their parks, gardens and green spaces.

Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys whoopie pies, kayaking, and brushing up on her Spanish. She is also mom to her wonderful daughter, Sloan.

Adam Gardner
Director & Co-Founder

Adam keeps himself busy with two full-time jobs: Guster guitarist and Reverb Co-Director. Pre-Reverb, he lamented the fact that despite living an earth-friendly lifestyle at home, his band's tours left a big not-so-eco-friendly footprint. He knew many other artists felt the same way, so he reached out to his friends and peers in the music world and found resources (thanks Bonnie Raitt!) and guinea pigs (thanks Barenaked Ladies!) as Reverb figured out how to make touring – and the music industry in general – greener.

As the Reverb "music guy," Adam spends much of his time working with bands, managers, and various entities in the music industry. He also tends to talk a lot; he recently had the honor of testifying to Congress about sustainable biodiesel, and was a keynote speaker at Powershift '09.

Adam grew up in New Jersey in "the garden part of the Garden State," exploring the woods and discovering what he was sure were ancient arrowheads. He left home for Tufts University, earning a B.S. in Psychology and thinking it didn't really matter which college he went to, only to meet both his wife and fellow band mates there.

Joshua Glasheen
Manager, Touring

Josh is Reverb's Manager of Tours, and oversees Reverb's presence out on the road. He joined the team in 2006, and since then has been on the road with the likes of Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Barenaked Ladies, and Phish.

Prior to entering the world of music and environmental education, Josh earned his B.A. in Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C. and worked as a political campaign operative on State, congressional and Presidential campaigns. He currently resides in Massachusetts, which means he spends a lot of time on the phone with Reverb headquarters in Portland.

Off the road Josh enjoys a good day of skiing, and mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Brian Allenby
General Manager

Brian is the General Manager of Reverb. From day-to-day management of Reverb’s operations, including tours, events and industry relations, to overseeing print and web media, Brian enjoys a busy, dynamic role at Reverb.

Prior to joining Reverb in 2007, Brian worked in both the music and environmental fields. After receiving his B.A. in Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C., Brian promoted and produced concerts in Charlottesville, VA. After a move back to his home state of Vermont, he transitioned to the environmental realm where he worked for NativeEnergy, a national leader in the renewable energy and carbon offset market.

When he escapes the office, Brian enjoys pairing good beer & cheese, staying up to date on new technology, and hopes to one day learn to play the pedal steel.

Elliott May
Manager, Strategic Partnerships

Elliott handles all forms of partnerships for Reverb, from collaborative educational campaigns with other non-profits to tour greening sponsorships with environmentally-minded businesses. He also manages Reverb's Campus Consciousness college tour.

Before joining Reverb in 2007, Elliott used on-the-ground guerrilla tactics to advance environmental campaigns for Clif Bar, Climate Counts and the Big Green Bus, a French-Fry-grease-guzzling school bus that he and his friends retrofitted to take them on a 12,000 mile tour of the US, talking to anyone who would listen about renewable energy.

Elliott calls many places home -- Seattle, WA; Columbus, OH: Glen Arbor, MI; and now, Portland, ME. In his spare time, he runs the local chapter of Greendrinks, plays Ultimate Frisbee and keeps an eye out for grease dumpsters. Elliott is a passionate music fan (Land of Talk, Kings of Convenience, Broken Social Scene) and a graduate of Dartmouth College.

Amy Makowiecki
Social Media, Community Outreach Coordinator & Office Support Staff

Amy is the newest addition to the Reverb team, first jumping on board in February 2009 as an intern. She spends most of her time coordinating Eco-Village volunteers and non-profit groups and working on Reverb’s online presence, though like the rest of the group has her fingers in a little bit of everything.

Amy arrived in Portland after earning a B.A. in Sociology from Colby College, and following a brief stint in the NYC publishing world.

Amy is from Texas, and once spent a summer learning how to farm with Norwegian Fjord horses in Bar Harbor. She also really enjoys logic puzzles.
