Honda Civic Tour Revs For August Start

It’s déjà vu all over again for Blink-182. The band headlined the first half of the first Honda Civic Tour in 2001 (Everclear headlined the second half).

Honda Civic Tour is teaming with Reverb, the non-profit founded by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and her husband, Guster’s Adam Gardner, to make it “easy to be green” for concert tours. That means working with the Surfrider Foundation to engage fans and raise awareness regarding environmental issues such as single-use plastics and water quality.

The adventure begins in Holmdel, N.J., at PNC Bank Arts Center Aug. 5. Other stops include two nights in Wantagh, N.Y., at the Nikon At Jones Beach Theatre Aug. 6-7; Mansfield, Mass., at Comcast Center Aug. 9; Maryland Heights, Mo., near St. Louis at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Aug. 19; Chicago’s First Midwest Bank Pavilion Aug. 20; and Denver’s Comfort Dental Amphitheatre Sept. 4. Other markets include Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Houston, Anaheim, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami. Last stop is the Oct. 15 gig at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre located outside San Diego.

At this time Manchester Orchestra is scheduled to support on most dates ranging from the Aug. 5 opener to Aug. 23 in Milwaukee. Rancid joins the tour beginning in Seattle Sept. 1 through Denver Sept. 4. Look for Matt And Kim on most dates beginning Sept. 7 in Minneapolis through the end of the tour.

A pre-sale for Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance fan club members begins June 6 and general onsales begin June 10. Visit the Honda Civic Tour website for more information.
