Anheuser-Busch

Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to environmental stewardship dates back to their founder Adolphus Busch, who, in the late 1800s, began recycling grain left over from the brewing process, using if for cattle feed. This practice continues today.

More than 99 percent of solid waste created at their breweries is recycled, and Anheuser-Busch’s recycling subsidiary recycles more than 27 billion cans annually (25 percent more cans than they put into the market).

They also strive to conserve water and energy through their Bio-Energy Recovery Systems technology, a process that reclaims nutrient-rich leftover water from the brewing process to create renewable energy that provides up to 15 percent of the fuel for nine of our U.S. breweries as well as their brewery in Wuhan, China.

These are just a few of Anheuser-Busch’s initiatives. They are continually looking to be better stewards of the environment while finding ways to operate more efficiently.
